Take Root Festival
A festival meets conference meets summer camp experience.
What
is Take Root?
Gather on the farm to take root in community, in nature, in important skills for resilience. Workshops, local food, market, music, kids activities, campfires, & more!
When
is Take Root?
We fest together the 2nd weekend in August! For 2025, we are still deciding if we’ll go annual, or stick to a bi-annual schedule. Regardless, we’ll be here Friday, August 8th for the Rise Up Herb Gathering.
Why
attend Take Root?
Take Root is a place for you to cultivate community, connect with nature, and re-learn skills of the past. We’re all about community sufficiency over self-sufficiency!

about cityfolk
Cityfolk by nature, naturefolk at heart.
A couple of city kids dreamt of getting out to the country to create space to cultivate community & connect with nature. We knew we’d make a lot of mistakes, and figured why not laugh at ourselves as we learn. Hence, Cityfolk Farm.
We invite people from all walks of life to join us at the farm, to collect and plant seeds of community, reciprocal relationship with nature, and re-skilling, and to allow them to take root in your heart, hands, mind, and communities.
